Young Eagles are between the age of 8 and 17, who have participated in an international program sponsered by the EAA Aviation Foundation.

Anyone who is interested can participate, and there is no cost to do so. Our certified pilots have flown over 4,000 excited Young Eagles.

What does a Young Eagle do??

Each Young Eagle will have the opportunity to experience flight in a general aviation aircraft. Flights normally last from 15 to 20 minutes, and are conducted Plane.jpgfrom a local area airport. In addition to flight, each young person will participate in a preflight inspection of the aircraft, and have an opportunity to discuss all aspects of their flight with their pilot. At the completion of the flight, each Young Eagle participant will receive a certificate, their names will be entered in the worlds largest logbook at the EAA Aviation Foundation in Oshkosh, WI. and they will receive a complimentary copy of EAA's Sport Aviation for Kid's magizine.

Chapter 902 usually conducts flights from the Portland-Troutdale Airport, located 17 miles east of Portland, Mulino Airport at Mulino, and Valley View Airport, at Esticada, Oregon. Other airports are available and may be used to accommodate your location.
